Portage Firefighters Roll Out "Hands Only CPR" for Portage Citizens

Your Portage Firefighters are rolling out a new initiative aimed at educating the public about the importance of early CPR. The initiative, sponsored by the American Heart Association, is called “CPR Anytime for Family and Friends”. The approach uses the new “Hands Only CPR” technique also sponsored by the American Heart Association. Studies have shown that most bystanders do not take action when faced with a cardiac emergency due to fear of doing something wrong and due to the thought that they will have to perform ventilations on a stranger.
This new campaign looks to ease the fear and to simplify the process while increasing the survival rate of the victim. Go to the link below for a wide array of information about “Hands Only CPR”.

Shoots & Ladders Ice Hockey Team Update

Summer Session, Season 2 is almost in the books. We've had a crazy year where we were leading the league, kicking butt and taking names only to find ourselves humbled for the last 1/3 of the season.
