Honey – Nature’s Gold!

Besides being an captain for the PFD, Denny McGahan is also a “Beekeeper”.  He has been keeping company with bees since 1990.  Starting with only several hives, he and his son, Michael, worked together.  In 1991, Michael died while waiting for a liver transplant.  In honor of his son, Denny named his business “Mike’s Apiaries”.

Today, Denny has expanded his business to approximately 150 to 200 hives.  Over the years, Denny has learned that there is a lot more to bees that what first meets the eye. 

Mike’s Apiaries carries a full line of MICHIGAN produced, honey products including pure honey, flavored honey, crème honey, honey straws, comb honey, honey soap, beeswax candles, honey candy and honey based non-dairy coffee creamer.
