Welcome to Jimmy K's R.O.M.E.O Club (Retired Old Men Eating Out)

The Portage Fire Department is always looking for ways to stay connected with those whom have come before us and whom have retired from the line of duty.  We always encourage retirees to come to the various department functions (Christmas party, union meetings, other department outtings, etc).  If one our our retirees needs a ride somewhere, someone is always there to step up and help out.  In fact, last year when one of our retirees needed his house painted, close to a dozen guys were there to help get the job done for him....

Recently we have started a "Retirees Breakfast" for the guys.  We meet on the 1st Thursday of every month at 9am.  The union covers up to $60 towards the cost of the breakfast.  It is a tremendous time to catch up with our retirees and let them know what is going on at the department that they faithfully served at and remain very much a part of.  Several retirees have expressed that they look forward to this breakfast because it helps them to get out and connect with "the guys"....

You don't have to be a "retiree" to attend.  We have averaged about 8 attendees each month.  It is a great time and one that you should make every effort to attend, at least once.
